If you’re offered an amazing opportunity but you’re not sure you can do it, say yes ALWAYS say yes – then learn how to do it later.
Name: Tania Debono
Occupation: Creative director of your dreams
Currently residing: In my own world, some may call it Sydney
Tania Debono is a woman destined for greatness. After spending one afternoon with her I walked away believing this lady is going to conquer the world! I first came about Tania via her Instagram account The Writing – a series of words and quotes inspired by her life experiences written in typography. This is not all she does, Tania is a founder behind the PR agency Cake Service, working on campaigns such as Bowl-A-Rama, Messina and Destination Queenstown and Pretty Shady, aimed at encouraging young Australians to be part of the generation that stops skin cancer. Tania’s work ethic is inspiring, a great ‘go getter’ attitude and it reflects in all her work and achievements. Tania is a big believer that if you are putting something out there for the right reason, it’s going to translate and you are going to captivate and capture an audience that get’s that. Working late hours on a Saturday night doesn’t bother her and when everyone else is out getting drunk or asleep, Tania is in her studio till 5am making websites and accidentally spray painting the floor and she wouldn’t change that for anything. It’s a pleasure for AR to feature Miss Tania Debono…
When I was a child I wanted to be… a movie star or an accountant, it changed often, I just wanted enough money to buy a yacht..for my dad.
The studies I took to get where I am… I studied a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Media where I learnt nothing and everything.
My work history before discovering my current passion… checkout chick, hairdresser (for about 3 seconds), sales assistant, law clerk, reporter, journalist, woman of mystery, producer, stylist, advertising exec …..
The tools I can’t live without are… electricity, my mind, wifi, ink, my eyes, paper, walls, my hands
I’m inspired by… people who never give up
My influencers are… my environment and those people who don’t look to anything else but their dreams
I’m currently listening too… Jay Z and Danger Mouse for the Grey Album, my friend Drew reminded me about it the other day, almost forgot how rad it was.
The obstacles that have come my way… doubt and time
My favourite place in the world… anywhere I can be alone for a little while to think, and anywhere I can be for a little while to not think. I also really enjoy the streets of soho,
I’d like to travel to… new york for coffee – paris for a late lunch and wine.
The highlights over the past 12 months have been… achieving things that I thought I could never do in my entire life.
Advice I have to share for those who want to get into this profession… I think this applies to anything – don’t do it for the wrong reasons, be prepared to sacrifice a lot, and get ready for the ride of your life.
The latest project I’m working on… some type work for my friends accessory line in NY and some other stuff I can’t tell you about, or I’ll get in trouble
