How do the following influence your life/work space -

Music:I like a variety of styles from deep minimal tech to… 80-90′s hip hop, to… the cure.. if it’s good… it’s good! and how does it influence me? well… sometimes I ‘work’ quick, sometimes I ‘work’ slow : )

Art: I love a variety of styles.. here are a few names and brands, in no particular order, Stussy, Pam, Dmote, Mike Giant, Jim Phillips, Monster Children, Huf, Morning Breath, Nike, 123klan, Norse Projects, Wood Wood, Huskmitnavn, Alex Trochut, Zawada.

In many ways I’ve tried to learn a little bit from all of the artists and brands mentioned above and many more. I’ve studied a lot of styles and techniques at some point or other. I design clothing, accessories, repeat patterns, flyers, catalogues, buttons, labels and heaps of other stuff but most brands hire me to do their t-shirt graphics.I kinda like seeing if i can appropriately switch up my style for each brand and consumer I design for. Which means studying a lot of different styles of art, brands, artists, clothing and consumers.

I’ve done a lot of illustration and photo collage work but to be honest I’ve done almost every style at some point over the years. Sport, street, vintage, minimal, high fashion, surf, skate, tech, pencil, cartoon, graphic, type… you name it I’ve tried it? thats how i started out learning and i guess i still am. So I’m constantly trying a new, inspiring, style or idea and thats the exciting part for me. It’s also necessary for my line of work, in the fashion industry, where new styles and flavours are arriving and disappearing all the time. I pride myself on diversity and being able to achieve a quality result creating any style of graphic, design or product. I think that is my strength? my diversity? my ability to come up with ideas? my understanding of each brands boundaries and my taste?? They say ‘fashion’ provides a choice, but ‘style’ is whats chosen’

Technology: I’m not much of a techy.. but I’m starting to get addicted to my iphone and instagram! and being able to email my work to any country from anywhere is awesome! : ) technology and especially our ability to obtain any information in seconds! Is going to result in very fast advances for the human race going forward.. creatively and every other way…we can now share and build on our global knowledge instantly… this could be a great thing if used wisely? but its a complex one! Nature is far, far ,far wiser than us silly humans… so I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
