Katie Kaars studies at Sydney College of Arts where she majored in Photomedia. Katie assisted many Sydney photographers most notably Richard Bailey for several yrs before moving overseas to London for 7 yrs building up editorial and advertising clients. Now based in Sydney, she has clients such as Bonds, Ford, Sony, Warner, Universal, Telstra, I-D, Marie Claire, Time Out London, Oyster, Rolling Stone and Sunday Magazine.

How do the following inspire your career and life -
Music: Music keeps me motivated! At the moment I’m into The Magician’s Mix tapes.
Art:Art inspires me to be more creative. My style of photography is to document so I really enjoy abstract art because it forces me to think differently.
Technology: Technology is so impressive especially for photography it is amazing what you can achieve on a digital camera and the computer. Personally I’m always trying to find ways to make my photography more like the good old days!  So apps like instagram and hipstamaic are really inspiring.
Lifestyle: Having recently moved back to Sydney from an 8 year stint in London the Sydney lifestyle has inspired me in a massive way both creatively and in my day to day life.  The lifestyle here is so outdoorsy compared to London.
